I've seen the 'bong' type reservoirs in various sizes and also the types that fit in either one or two 5.25" bays. I have no idea which is best though.
I'm guessing here, but wouldn't the smallest res you can use be best, because I imagine its only really used to help bleeding/filling - if its internal it will in fact be heating up the water slightly, as the ambient temp inside the case is a lot warmer than the ambient ouside air flowing over the res, so it would be best to have the water spend as little time at possible sitting in the res before it's sent to the rad to cool down.
Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
