Somewhere Fabulous...
Well, decided to take the pluge and bought myself a nice new EVGA GTX260 on 04/09/08 from OCUK for the princely sum of £199. I went for this one as there were rumours of the new 260 within the next 3 months, i was tired of waiting and thought the step-up option could be useful.

I was just having a browse around the site and look what i've found....!

Bloomin' typical eh? wait for ages, finally take the plunge a few days later the price drops by £25! Gotta say, im a little miffed! lol!

Anyone think that, if i drop OCUK a line, mention that i'm a loyal customer and have spent nearly £2000 in the last year and a half with them, that they may refund the difference?

(cheeky i suspect but think its worth a try?)

"Hey, I paid £500 pounds for this Voodoo card back in 1996, but now it's only worth 50p, could I have my £499.50 back please?"

No need for that mate. Jeez. I was just asking a question. If you don't have anything useful to say then please, don't say anything at all.

if youve only had it a few days, you could always return it under the distance selling act, then when youve got your money back buy the cheaper one ;)

Thats nothing.

Bought a 7800GTX512 for £587 in Jan 2005. Had been advised by OCUK they did not expect the price to drop for months as supply was tight. 2 weeks later the price dropped £150! And supply was not tight at all.

Either Nvidia were telling their retailers porkies about memory chip shortages or..............

Like i said, bought it 04/09 so the distance selling act doesn't apply here. :(

you could always check on their site to see how long you have.. im sure the Norm is 14days, but one place i buy from you can return within 30days

theyv refunded people in the past for stuff thats gone on offer etc, drop them a webnote, its hardly difficult. Nowadays companys realise they have to keep people sweet, as word of mouth really does matter.

Unfortunatly for whoever buys is - the memory won't last long on it - especially if you actually run it much... so I hope they are buying it as a collectors item :D

Just had a look, since i've already received the card and would have to ay to send it back (which would cost about £7-10 for decent postage) i don't think it would really be worth it. I think i'll drop them a line and see what they suggest...
