That's exactly what my first Ubuntu install did. Set SMP folding up as a service, unit bricked then couldn't delete the remaining files. Gave up and reinstalled lol.
 
That WU might be rescuable, as the client's written the result to disk. Look in the work folder. Is there a file called wuresults_07.dat?
