How is a 2004 MX5 exempt from ULEZ?

Here's a query for yourselves.

An ad popped up today for a 2004 MX5 1.8. The reg being FA04PYZ.
It's advertised as ULEZ exempt. My initial reaction was, no, that's not possible.

Had a look on the ULEZ checker and the car has it's Euro compliance level as "not applicable".
So the car really is ULEZ exempt. I didn't think that any NB was.

Any idea how/why this could be?
Just really curious.
 
Apologies for not revisiting this thread sooner.

My point was not that an MX5 is compliant, rather that the one I mentioned in the ad is the ONLY mk2 (NBFL) MX5 that I've seen. My own MX5 is not compliant and it wasn't until the NC MX5 with the newer Skyactive engine arrived that they were considered compliant.
 
Like I said the late model NB MX5's are Euro 4 compliant. You cannot tell by reg because it could have been sitting on a forecourt for a year or so but is 04 to 05 models in general.

This one is also compliant.
