My amazon rewards CC closed when amazon ended thier partnership with new day. I didn't take up the offer of the new card as the rewards were garbage.

Anyway. I returned an item that I bought after my statement was generated.
As the DD was 3 weeks from being collected I assumed they'd collect the new amount not the original statement amount! Every other CC I have does this.

Anyway. My balance is now sitting at - 200 (200 in credit) will this come back automatically? Or will I need to chase?

I would chase so they know.

Financial institutions have two speeds, fast and slow. If you owe them money they demand a rapid response and immediate payment, or interest will be levied. If they owe you money they will have fine print explaining how this will inflexibly take a very long time to show up, and meanwhile no interest on it will accrue, (except to them playing with your, and other customer's money) ;)

I'd contact them to make sure they refund the credit balance.

When I worked for Natwest, credit balances were not automatically refunded unless it was there when the card was closed.

Ring them and they'll bank transfer it to your chosen account. What Virgin did anyway when similar happened to me a few weeks ago.
