Hello I was wondering if anyone has used this service?

I urgently need a new GPU for Witcher 3 as I think my 560ti will die a fiery death if I try and play it, I don't have the funds for a 970 so condering buying a 960 for now and upgrading it in a couple of months when I have the extra cash.

So to anyone that has used it how was it? Fast and easy or was it a pain?

EVGA Step-Up is currently only available to residents of EU and EEA Countries, Switzerland, the United States (not including outlying territories), and Canada.

Already checked up on that part :)

My 560ti is old now got it back in 2011..... I was looking at buying a new 960 and then when I have more money upgrade it to the 970 possibly 980.

EVGA support is generally very good so it should be fairly fast and pain free when you want to step up from the 960 to the 970.

Hi

I would hope the service in the step-up program is a good experience.

First a couple of bits to note:

1) Ensure you register your product within 14 days of purchase
2) Your step up eligible period will last for 3 months from date of purchase.

The time delay people talk about is when products are under allocation. As with any new product from Nvidia there is generally strong demand at launch so stocks under shortage. So satisfying initial demand sometimes means delays. If you can be quick after launch this will always put you near the front of the queue.

If you are looking to step up to an established product in the market then this process can be very quick and turnaround the same day the old card lands back with EVGA in Munich.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks
Ben

He's not stepping up from the 560, he's on about buying a 960 then upping to a 970 when he has funds.

I went from a GTX970 to a GTX980, first step was done on the 11th Feb and the last step i.e the RMA was done on the 18th Feb. Once I'd sent the GTX970 to them the GTX980 was shipped out on the 26th Feb. Can't remember how long shipping took, but I don't think it was too long
