How is the 4k gaming experience?

Slade: I was originally looking at the 34" 21:9 monitors, then I bought the 32" BenQ BL3200PT, and then I sent it back and bought the Philips 40" 4k.

Very happy with the move, and a huge improvement over 27" 1440p. The 32" just wasn't big enough a jump, and instead felt like a backwards step as the pixel pitch returned to that of a 1080p panel.

I run SLI 970s too and it works great. The good thing is, if you're having trouble running any games @ 4k, the panel scales nicely to 1440p. Win win.

Same here. Briefly had the BenQ and sent it packing a couple of days later. I just wasn't that impressed by the pixel density.

I have settled for a 1440p 27inch (I owned a couple before) and I just think 27 is the sweet spot for physical size and 1440p is a perfect resolution for it.

4k i can only imagine would be amazeballs but I don't have the budget for a higher end model and I'll be damned if I'm buying a TN panel.

I went from 1080p 120Hz (for gaming - 2560x1440 for desktop) to 4K 60Hz (gaming and desktop) to 1440p 144Hz (mostly run at 120 as that works better for me) while 4K is nice and all and I certainly have some desktop uses for it I don't see it as the future for me - I'm far more comfortable overall at 2560x1440 for both general desktop use and gaming. Even with 4K at 120+Hz I don't think I'd use it over 1080-1440p.

EDIT: If I did more casual gaming I might be inclined to get a ~40" 4K display - proper 4K video/movies is immense, some games like driving games with a wheel, elite dangerous with controller, etc. is a really great experience - but I'm not one for using a controller in gaming generally - I tend to be a much more intensive keyboard/mouse gamer.
