How is the 5800H/3070 laptop in 2025?

I'm currently looking at potentially buying another gaming laptop for chucking in a bag on the odd occasion I'm away with work.

I've been looking at the 5800H/3070 models of legions and found one for £570 including a IETS GT500 laptop cooler.

How well does the 5800H/3070 hold up today?

Can't speak for the 5800H, though it is probably broadly similar, but I'm still using a couple of 10870H laptops with 130-140 watt TDP 3070s and they still hold up but for newer stuff like say Oblivion Remaster you can miss out on some of the newer DLSS features/FG tech which can make quite a difference and will have to turn settings down a bit on newer games unless you play at like 720p.

EDIT: Personally I've felt absolutely no need to upgrade so far, though the 10th gen CPUs are getting a bit long in the tooth now but still adequate performance for pretty much any task you'd do on a laptop, the 5800H is a bit faster so will hold up a little better.

That's great to hear. Thanks for the feedback and your experiences
Hopefully it should work well for my needs. It won't be used very often so maybe I should hold off until I require one?
