how is the ati 5750 compared to the nvidia 8800gt?

my needs have changed and considering replacing my 8800gts with a passive 5750 (powercolor i think?) for my pc. the main use will be watching movies etc but wouldnt mind being able to play the odd game once in a while but its not a priority by any means.

is a 5750 comparable in power to the older 8800gt?

if i was still a gamer, i'd splash out on the latest and greatest but im not anymore, also how do the older ati (passively cooled) 4xxx series cards compare to the 8800gt?

Off the top of my head I think the 5750 is around about the performance of the nVidia 250 card, ATI 4850, etc. so a little faster than a good 8800GT but not earth shattering.

For the minor increase in price (£10-20), I'd go for a 5770 which trades blows with a 260.

are there any passively cooled 5770s around? 3d performance isnt a priority but i could pay an extra £20 *if* it didnt have a heatsink..
