How is the Wii dong now?

Nintendo have never been anywhere near close to going under, they have always made a tidy profit. Nintendo are also sitting on a larger pile of money that Sony or MS's console division so they definitely have enough financial might.

Its about 6 weeks now, and likely to remain so for a while FF7AC comes out next week with FF13 demo thats going to sell a lot of PS3 especially as there is a LTD edition Cloud Strife PS3 out at the same time.

And it'll only take the PS3 5 years to catch up at it's current rate ;)

Don't forget the Wii is yet to have a price cut since it's launch too.

Only a sell out would buy a Wii, they have darkened the console market, never seen so much tripe on a console.

I agree with that although I would say it broadens out to Nintendo as a whole though, some of the DS games are appaling, eg Imagine Doctor, Dream Wedding etc etc.

I bought one on just after launch and ended up giving it to my neice. What I seen was good but with having a toddler it spent more time packed away than been played with.

i hope thats some kind of sarcasm. if not then its extremely cringe.

Nintendo wasnt competitive in the console market with the gamecube and sales were already on the slide in the n64 era due to the popularity of the playstation.

they are a business and have come up trumps again with the wii. they opened up gaming to millions more people with the wii and have made a lot of money in the process. nintendo arent here to satisfy hardcore gamers who have fond memories of the nes.

you cant really criticise them, the wii is a groundbreaking piece of kit and is by far the best selling 7th generation console.

whats the point in pursuing the core audience when they nearly went under pursuing it previously? Since theres another 2 manufacturers with more financial muscle pursuing the exact same audience.

Wii is no doubt still doing great.

I think Nintendo have plenty of financial muscle now :D

The only one to have never made a loss on hardware i believe. The Gameboy and DS have always been a license to print money and the Gamecube was also profitable, though obviously not a mega success.

With tripe like Mario Sport Wii Parties 5 costing £3.49 to develop and selling by the truckload, the future looks bright for Nintendo :p

:)

whoops - yea sorry they never nearly went under, but they were failing to compete in the console market, obviously theyv always had other ventures keeping them stable.

I might sell my Wii. I had more Even fun with my old Gamecube last gen. Worse console ever. It clearly wasn't made for the hardcore crowd. There's to many games aimed at nine year old girls on it.

i was going to play on my wii for the first time in ages the other day but none of the controllers will sync :(

Personally I don't care about the amount of trash released on it, if I dont want the shovelware games I dont buy them. I'm more concerned about the lack of news of new titles that interest me..

Nope, it's pretty much always been consoles. They never "nearly went under" because they have always made a profit on everything they do.

£150

**Wii's are going up in price over the next month**

I remember reading the wii was going up in RRP to £200, I was astonished that people would be willing to pay more after 2 1/2 years on the market. Even with the £ falling it wont have fallen as much as nintendo's production costs.

The price of Wii's are going up too.
Nintendo have been struggling with prices. Kept the same price at a dollar rate of 2:1 and now dollar is at 1.45:1 they have been making a loss. The prices are going up soon.
