I asked for some advice in an earlier post, and have now adapted and modified it a little bit. Will all the components be compatible and will it be able to run games at a relatively high level compared to the 360?

Also, why are there three different variants of the Radeon HD 6850? Namely the standard one, the XFX one and the one above?

Just different variations of the same thing, different coolers, some have different clock speeds, but nothing to amazing.

Stulid has really put together a better core system for you.

The 460 is still a good card but considering you can get the 6870 for only slightly more with dirt3 & deus ex (both awesome games) included that would make it's way into my basket.

Stulid was aware of this i'm sure. You have to draw a line in the sand somewhere, it's so easy to "justify" another £10 or so more here and there and end up waaaay out of budget ;)
