How is this happening?

So I got my 2500k and my Z68X-UD3P. Stuck it at 4.5ghz and forgot to touch the voltage.
Booted into windows, ran Intel Burn test and this happened

Im so confused on how on earth im running with such a low voltage

Actually in the desktop when opening applications and stuff my CPU will peak at 4.5 and the voltage will stay low where as if I play a game it will rise to 1.3ish Volts at 4.5Ghz.

Youve taken that screen shot in Windows right while the system is idle?

Are you running a permanent overclock ie CPU always at 4.5 Ghz no matter what its doing or are you using the overclock method where the system reaches 4.5Ghz only when needed ie under load and gaming?

perhaps double check there isnt some auto voltage boost thingy enabled in the bios, but that still wouldnt explain why it wouldnt display on cpuz...

The voltage doesnt always rise to achieve the overclock of 4.5Ghz in CPUZ IF your just opening an internet browser or program that takes seconds to load. Its perfectly feasible to not see the V raise if its too fast but the clock speed will raise. I just tested it on mine.

My question to OP is does it run at that low V even in a game at 4.5Ghz?

CPU-Z and HW Monitor doesn't seem to report the correct CPU voltages for Gigabyte boards. I have this problem too, but TouchBIOS reports the correct voltages.

you're correct, funny as they read it fine on my old Z68AP-D3's before they broke, twice..

Why does TouchBIOS read the CPU temp 12C lower than HW?
