ati sapphire 4870 512mb

Fan Speed: 35%
GPU Clock: 830MHz
Memory Clock: 1155MHz
Idle Temp: 46%
Max Temp: 75%

so any good?

Stress test it for 24 hours or (god forbid) even try playing a game? ;)

You`ll answer your own question then :) If it`s stable, that`s a nice overclock.

hah yeah
i actually ran WAR on max doing large scale orvr for over an hour ok then i crashed lol

reduced the clocks a bit now, 800/1000 whats a good stress test to use?

i was using furmark is that ok to run for an extended period?

Furmark is fine :)

I suspected that the memory might have been a bit high. I used to (don`t overclock my 4870 1gb, what`s the point it`s good enough IMO) do core then memory, never both as you dunno which is going pear shaped.

I`ve seen that card great at 810/1050. Start there, up the core until you start seeing artifacts then back off 10mhz, then the same with the memory, then proper extended stress test. :)

I would however record fps from stock and then fps overclocked. You might wanna trade off a few extra fps vs premature card life ;) I concluded it just wasn`t worth it, but that`s me .... had much more fun OCing a 4850, great leaps can be made with that card :)

yeah thats why i reduced the clocks to the fairly safe 800/1000

tbh i think i might just leave it at stock, card life atm over spead.

Good decision, especially if you get very playable framerates on your chosen game at your chosen resolution. I spent a whole day overclocking/testing for an extra 5 fps, day wasted :\ Newer drivers gave me 3fps anyway ;)

This is good Overclock...
even my OC 4870 is 850mhz 3800mhz...

the only good way to test stability, is CRYSIS on maximum... if it won't crach in the game than it will be stable!
