As much as I would like to get a conroe, it would be serious overkill for me. Plus its more the motherboard that puts up the price rather then the processor

I doubt I will do much gaming - just want something that is reliable. I think the 4200X2 I have picked is overkill too but its on this week only!

Thinking I will order in th next week or two. Could even downgrade the procesor for a better motherboard. One with wireless perhaps?

Any other ideas?

Is that the best 939 motherbaord and would AM2 be better? Wont be upgrading for a while and that is soo cheap. Am I right in guessing that there istn a performance increase in getting AM2 over 939?

2nd one is more of what I want to spend since I have no need for C2D speeds. Currently using a 4 year old 1.5ghz PIII laptop so anything is gonna be a huge diff, can it be bettered?

If you just want a basic upgrade then it may make more sense to look at the Members Market for a secondhand PC.
