How logical would it be for me to build my own rig?

I'm looking to spend around £1500 on a custom pc, though I feel compelled to build this pc myself rather than have OCUK assemble it for me, I like the idea of having a hobble/project on the side and I also like the thought of having that self satisfaction too. Though the only experience I've had with system hardware is replacing the power supply, installing RAM and installing Graphics cards(nvidia 7900gs, 7300LE..) would it be a little far fetched of me to attempt to build myself my own pc and risk £1500?

(Btw this should be in General Hardware}

On topic If you feel that you can do it yourself, go for it, it won't be much more difficult than what you have already experienced.

Yeah have a go, if ya cant figure something out ya can always come and ask on the forums, just make sure you have a big hammer standing by :)
