How long before I have to add private plate to the car?

Hi there,

I bought a private plate a few months ago and I was told that after a certain time period I would have to renew the retention or add it to my car?

Now how long is this time period?

Sorry I have tried googling with no success, which I found weird :/

Depends how much you paid for as well. I paid £105 for 1 years retention but was offered two years at £130
