Guys how long do you think it be till i need to upgrade my SLI gtx 580 setup for running games at 1920x1200 with most the ingame video settings at max ?

I normally only upgrade my GPU's every 2 or 3 years
(Had my SLI GTX 580 setup for a year now)

Everyone has different requirements so it's hard to say. If I had 580 in sli I expect it would last quite easily over two years from now, though up and coming titles like Doom 4 might change things somewhat.

I fixed your first post for you.
There nothing special about having a SLI 580 setup...

Loads of members here have highend GPU setups,
Just look at the members sigs in this thread alone ;)

James J = 580GTX 3GB SLI
Crezzlin = 7970 xfire
BaDBoY_uK = 6990+6970
Lunawolfy= EVGA GTX 580 Superclocked SLI
vectisitch = 3x watercooled gtx470's sli

Close thread with option "I am a tool"

:D Worst I got GTX 580 SLI thread ever!

But seriously, I'm sure it'll last another couple of years at least at that res. Or at least until the next generation of consoles have been out a little while and developers can make the most if their hardware.

Mate until this weekend (when I install a GTX580, single card not SLI) I'm still be running my GTX260 and I haven't had any problems with it because the games I played were fine. I'm only upgrading because the games I now play need more ooomphh and to keel me over until Kepler.

So it depends on your games, what games are you playing that need more power? It would be a waste to buy the fastest card and most expensive kit in the world, only to play Doom :s

Plus at your resolution you shouldn't have any problems, it's only those with 3 monitor surround setups and higher resolution than you're playing at, etc that would need some more power anytime soon :s

I think SLI is overkill at that resolution on a single monitor anyway

I admit that my post was insensitive but seriously, you're asking whether SLI 580s will last at 1920x1080 given the market for 99% console ports?

I honestly hate threads like these. They are becoming more and more prevalent. They come across as bragging threads.

With SLI 580s and a decent rig, you should have enough knowledge of gaming setups to know that the answer to your question is simply "when you cannot play games at very high settings above 60fps"

Enjoy your system dude and stop asking stupid questions :)
