How long before new boards surface?

Specifically looking at the X** series of boards and am about to upgrade, but I'm obviously having to wait a few weeks until the new GPU's surface, therefore I was wondering if there were any new boards due out soon.
Basically should I hang fire and order the lot at once in a few weeks or is it safe to have the basics up and running before the ATI / Nvidia debacle is over..
(Probably an X48 Gigabyte if I was to order now)

X48 won't be replaced til the end of this year. It's only really been released. Abit still haven't got theirs out yet.

not th eonly ones (at least as far as the UK is concerned).
The IX48-MAX supposedly is imminent.
