Once i have given a car a going over with SRP do i have to wait before giving it a coat of Collinite 845?

Nice one thanks for the replies, im going to give it a go today.

already been answered, but its worth pointing out that wax usually needs time to cure - ie needs a certain amount of time on the paintwork before it can be removed.

Polish is an abrasive used to grind down the paint flat at a microscopic level so doesn't need to be left.

collinite is tough stuff

reportedly can last up to 6 months if applied correctly.

Not a particularly high shine wax however, more protective than shine enhancing.

After taking a bit of advice im putting SRP then EGP on me old Jag cos it never gets driven.

And Collinite on top of whatever is on my Cayenne now because thats the one that gets covered in mud driving up a mile of mud to get to my house.

Id rather have protection and water sheeting off than out right shine i think. Also its silver so nothing is going to make it gleam like my old blue one.

That's the job of a wax. Waxes don't really "add" shine so its always good to go for a good lasting one. The preperation of the bodywork is more important than what wax to put ontop.

As for using EGP, you don't need to as it's a sealant. Use a sealant or wax not both as they both do the same job although as a guide, use sealants on light colours and wax on dark.

So on me Jag which is dark blue, this is what i intended to do.

SRP then EGP is that not right?

And on the other which is silver but supposedly has some sealant/treatment on it (but it dosent seem too great at sheeting water ) I was going to just put a layer of Collinite on it.

What do you think?

So what would you use on a dark (lapis) blue Boxster? I'm currently using SRP EGP and am happy with the shine but it never lasts more than a day or two.

Would a liquid polish, such as the Megs one, have the same results as I'm currently having? Would I be better of using a past like wax such as Collinite 476s?

personally i dont buy the whole "certain polish / wax combo is better for certain colours" thing.

use what your using now, theres nothing wrong with it.

Most who use collinite use it during the winter for protection from salt and road grime.

I'm going to have to 2 bucket and clean it all the time though .

Oh well!

Anyone had any experience with using Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine compared to Super Resin Polish. Are either any good at getting rid of or masking light scratches ? I have read that Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine is meant to be better on darker coloured cars.
