How long between polish and waxing?

I'm going to have to 2 bucket and clean it all the time though .

Oh well!

if you've got a pressure washer you can get away with just snowfoaming a car in winter.

A completely touchless wash is the best way of avoiding rubbing dirt, grime, salt etc.. into your paintwork.

The wax stops the grim sticking to the paint and helps it fall off easier.

That is exactly the result i want, ease of washing.

I have a presure washer, yes. I also have a smow foam bottle thingy. Can you recomend me a snow foam?

You still have to dry though!

if you've never used anything like this before then Autoglymn super resin polish followed by Autoglymn extra gloss protection is a nice easy start.

You can think about more exotic stuff if you decide you want to get really into it.

I can suggest other stuff, but you will just be bewildered by the choice.

Take a look at www.cleanyourcar.co.uk

I was going to ask about Wax / Polish. What do people recommend, as I have no clue whatsoever?

Get down Halfords; they have 3 for 2 on all cleaning stuff. Go to the Autoglym stand; get the shampoo, super resin polish and extra protection gloss.

Them buy some microfiber cloths (either from eBay or you can get 50 from Screwfix for £20) and use them for everything bar shampooing. For that use a lambs wool mitt, about £5 from Halfords.

Read all the bottles before using. For washing use the 2 bucket method (use Google to find out what this is). For everything else just do what its says on the back of the tin.

Happy days!

Yep, not bad. It is easier to work with smaller cloths.

You'll need about 30 in total I would have thought. It's a good idea to use a different one for front, each side, back and roof (if you have one).

For example-

5 for drying
4 for the wheels
5 for putting polish on
5 to take it off
5 to put sealent on
5 to take it off
And it's always nice to have a couple spare

Enjoy.

Edit- Clean the wheels first!

MrLOL I have poorboys black hole glaze and their EX-P sealant. I haven't had a chance to apply these yet but what is your opinion? also can I seal straight after glazing or should I let the glaze cure for a bit too?

TIA :)

glaze is basically a product consiting mainly of fillers. Its job is to fill in the microscopic gaps in the paint and make the surface smooth so it reflects light better.

Wax / Sealant are primarily for protection.

Black hole needs to be left to go hazy before wiping off, but after buffing off you can wax straight away.

sweet :) ye I know what it is ;) but because I have to do the paint correction phase by hand and because I have hard paint, I have to go the inferior filler rather than cut route.

Anyone had any experience with using Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine compared to Super Resin Polish. Are either any good at getting rid of or masking light scratches ? I have read that Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine is meant to be better on darker coloured cars.

Yep, use UDS on my car (black paintwork). Don't think it will really help with scratches, but does help to reduce the visibility of swirl marks a fair bit.

Soooo i woosed out of doing the Collinite on me Cayenne, after 1 door and a wing i realised that was destined to be hard work.

So i paid someone 40 quid to do it for me, and im impressed.

Iv never seen water sheet off a car like that :)

Pathetic ;)

(Where did you get some to do it for £40, sounds like a good deal?)

Hard work? Just rub it on and wipe it off, maybe you were putting far too much product on.
Do you pay someone to wipe your bum aswell :D
