How long can I leave my NAS backing up?

Hi guys,

Just got myself a ReadyNAS off the MM today for use with my media.

Currently xferring the media from my current pc through my older networking gear and it's going to take 38 hours.

My question is can I put the new WD green under that much write strain straight away? Or should I cancel the xfer and do it in smaller chunks over a few days?

Just leave it read/writing that's what drives are made for.

if it fails then it was a faulty drive. just leave it running
