how long to defrost a frozen tin of lager ?

I bought 8 cans of lager and a bottle of vodka last night.
I put the Lager in the freezer for a prelimanary chill.
The thing is that I got so carried away with the vodka that I forgot about the lager....!

Just got in from work thirsty as hell and all ive got is 8 can's of Ice..!

probably quite a long time, stick em in some warm water or something. Am i right in thinking that the alcohol would have separated or is that complete hog wash

On the contrary, the water freezes/evaporates, so the alcohol % is higher? Not entirely sure...

I can't recall a single instance of frozen beer defrosting into drinkable, enjoyable beer. I think you're on to a loser there.

And yes, many, many people would not have got the right impression from the thread title.

Don't the bubbles freeze? And then when you defrost it they all float to the surface (as they have a lower melting point) and dissipate, leaving you with flat beer?

Not too long... The metal has a pretty high thermal conductivity, so 20mins or so of running under a hot tap should be plenty.

But I suspect that the quality of the beer might be a little... gash.

As long as the cans remain sealed, the beer should be quite drinkable when it finally thaws. Leave them at room temperature until the outside condensation (currently frost!) gets just below the halfway mark.
