How long do you think this mobile gpu will last considering these benchmarks?

My new laptop has finally been sorted, so I've installed the latest 7.1 omega drivers, and benched it. (Cost me £1060 which I was pretty happy for given its specs.)

It's getting:

3DMark03 - 11985
3DMark05 - 5771

I didnt run 06 as I was comparing nominally against my brother's machine which has an overclocked x800 bravo, which cant do SM3.

The optimal screen resolution is 1440x900, although I dont mind running slightly lower settings. With AA/AF off, but all other settings on max, FEAR was getting minimum 26, average 41 and maximum 80fps, with the latest patch, and 1440x900 res.

This seems pretty decent for a laptop, however I wanted your opinion on how this will last, so I can decide whether to start to put aside budget in 6-12 months for upgrading, or whether considering its a laptop, this should be good for a fair while on medium settings etc in games.

I'd be pretty pleased with it.

My old 6600GT got 9k in 3dMark03, my X1800XT can do 19k, so it should be somewhere in the middle. There wasn't much the 6600GT couldn't handle, it played FEAR fine at 1280 and slightly older stuff like FarCry at good settings. If the mobile GPU (what model is it?) is faster then you should be OK for the time being.

Crysis etc. will probably hammer it, but that goes for just about every GPU out by the looks of it so what can you do?
