Down under mate!
I'm sure I got zapped by one of those speed camera's that are sat in the back of the white van's on the side of the road. It happened on the 30th May and we are now the 7th June so a week on.........

So am I one of the lucky ones or does it usually take more than a week for the fine to arrive?

TC.

14 days with a gray area on if there is a couple of days leeway for delays in the postal system. I recall a case not long ago where someone got a NIP cancelled as it arrived 1 day outside the 14, but others have since had late NIP's enforced.

For reference my last one came on day 13.

I'd stop worrying after about 17 days. As said, if its posted within 14 days its a bit grey (nobody on here can agree) if that counts or not.

But to be safe, assume it can count if its sent on the 14th day. So if you've not received anything after 17/18 days you'll be in the clear.

yeah, they are required to send it so that it *should* arrive within 14 days of the offence, how fast were you going? the is a bit of leeway involved i.e you prob wont get one for doing 72 in a 70

87 on a dual carraigeway is nothing to be ashamed of.

If its with a central reservation and proper slip roads, with no pavements etc.. and a nice quiet clear dry day, id say 87 is easily safe with current modern cars.

I'm fairly sure I was got by a mobile van one on Saturday in Portsmouth, they were everywhere. Awaiting the letter of shame, it'll be my first :(

I don't know why they bother to zap people on a dual carriageway, it's much safer doing 85 on a dc than 40 in a 30 zone, so their only doing it to get more people, not trying to increase safety. Atleast their job must be boring as hell.

As was covered in a thread a couple of days ago it has to be posted to arrive within 14day of the offence, and taking into account any known delays such as bank holidays and postal strikes.
