how long does noctua rma take

When I had to RMA via Noctua, I contacted them via their form and had a reply in very short order (a day or two I believe). Entire process of RMA entry and new fan was very quick and fast. However, this was before the pandemic hit, so it might have been a bit slowed down compared to that. But should still be fairly fast in response, assuming you submitted your RMA to the right location.

Also, may I quickly ask, what are you using your U12A on? And how is it connected to the motherboard? Which motherboard is it? As the Noctua (and many other PWM) fans are known to make ticking noises when a motherboard fan header it is connected to is actually giving off voltage control instead of proper PWM signal to control the fan speed.

My experiences with Noctua warrantees are same as Meddling-Monk's. Quick reply and replacement fan/s sent

As Meddling-Monk said, some motherboard fan headers labeled "PWM" are not sending PWM signal to PWM fan, but sending PWM pulsed 12v power to motor. Not at all the same kind of motor control!

The last message I had from them was the 25th October. Although I purchased it in 2019 Amazon say they will refund it. Although I'm giving noctua until Friday to reply.

Probably get a different cooler in that case

Used them in October 2019 for the same thing - fan that developed a faulty bearing (An A9x14 PWM). Took Noctua 24 hours to respond to the webform, confirmed that it was under warranty and then shipped a new unit the next day. The shipping was slow though, about 6-8 days :(

As proof? They asked me to break off one of the fan blades and provide a picture to confirm that it wasn't a fraudulent RMA claim.

Out of the many Noctua fans that I've used was the only one that went bad and also the smoothest RMA experience I've ever had.
