How long does your PC take to boot up?

Yes, tis works well in Vista, but I find the XP hibernation does not work so well.

i have mine in xp-pro, took some tweaking and reading to get it working well, but now its a great feature. 1 sec boot up, auto standby if idle for 10mins saves me a lot of electricity :P

I use S3 standby with XP also, and it doesn't need any tweaking at all  Simply set it to S3 in the BIOS then put Windows in standby and it should be fine :p

2160 @ 3gz, 2 gig am, vista 64bit - from post screen, it takes 18 seconds to get to vista password screen. and i was anoyed at that, but 7 mins odd... i would die of boredom waiting. lol

My spec is quite old -XP2500 1.5gb RAM Radeon 9800pro GPU. From switch on to fully booted up takes about 7 1/2 mins. Slow i guess?
Ouch. I have an almost identical spec (2400, 9700 Pro) and it takes less than 90 seconds for Windows and startup programs to finish loading. It was about 3 minutes before I formatted the hard drive a few weeks ago.

2 seconds or lower

set your computers to standby, if you have correctly setup sleep state S3 it means everything in your computer turns off apart from the ram. so it is using very little power.

then when you hit the keyboard, its almost instantly on, best bit is you can stndby and everything on your screen stays there. for example you could have 10 web pages and a excel sheet up, go to standby and come back in two hours, hit the keyboard and its all back up

How do you set this up? are you using vista or xp?
Is there a way for all fans etc to shut down, but be able to resume as soon as i press a button?

Used to boot up really fast even fully loaded with Anti Viri etc until SP2, thats slows it down, and now on Vista its slower then XP, but I never did judge a PC by boot up unless its minutes then something in wrong.

Fastest I seen it was on my 2x Raptors X in Raid 0 on clean install of XP-SP2 with nothing else installed, also shut down in like 1sec, like someone pulling power plug from the wall socket lol, add all drivers+apps thats starts to slow down.

One day when Solid State HDD's is the norm we will have near instant boots.

About 30 seconds from when I see the Windows 'slidey bar' screen until everything in the background is loaded. On startup I load MSN, Snagit, PC-cillin, mouse drivers, NVIDIA drivers.

Hoping to reduce that with a nice RAID 0 setup in October some time :)

From press of button to being sat at the desktop ready to go is 24 seconds as best I can time it.

Striped disks, minimal stuff loaded on boot, unneeded items switched off in Bios and quite a few other little tweaks...

Mine takes about 30 seconds from power on to the login screen. Takes about 10-15 seconds after I hit enter on the login screen for all my background apps to load
