How long is you current boot?

As long as possible really since I'm using Vista (superfetch?). I only restart when needed.

Your wording confused me - I thought it took your OS 8 days and 39 minutes to load up!

start > run > cmd > systeminfo

scroll up to the top and it shows system uptime :)

Mines 4 minutes, just rebooted to try kubuntu but its not booting properly :(

yea also my pc does it's power check where all the fans just blast at full speed and boy is it loud first thing in the morning :p

10 days, 22 hours, 21 minutes.

My main machine basically stays on until a reboot is needed for patches etc.

*edit* boot time is quite slow - I've had this install for over a year now and it's beginning to slow down when booting up :(

243 days, 19 hours.

Although that isn't windows...

Windows greatest uptime is something like 2 or 3 months or so.

Unless downloading, I don't see the need to leave it on. During the week it will just be on from 6-10pm ish and during the day at the weekend.

I turn my main machine off every day, but...

(mrboo@bone:ttyp0)-(~)$ uptime
7:49PM up 291 days, 7:29, 1 user, load averages: 2.26, 1.72, 1.19
(mrboo@bone:ttyp0)-(~)$ uname -mrs
NetBSD 3.1.0_PATCH i386
(mrboo@bone:ttyp0)-(~)$

I managed to get > 200 days out of Windows 2000 a couple of years a go though if I remember rightly :)

It *never* goes lower than 1.0. Well, it hovers damn close to 1.0 when idle. I posted to the NetBSD mailing list ages a go about it, but the cause was never determined.

I don't tend to pay attention to load average anyway, so as long as it stays responsive, I am not overly bothered. I've had it higher than 10 in the past, poor little 1GHz Celery, and all was fine, so, yep!

I'm aiming to reach at least a year's uptime, then it's probably going to be updated a bit. Both hardware and software. NetBSD 4.0. Yay!
