How long should a fridge bulb last?

Just curious really, got back today and my fridge bulbs gone. Will be 2 years old in May, is that a reasonable time for the bulb to last? How hard is it to replace? Was worried at first that the fridge had broken by it's all plugged in and i can hear a hum if i stick my head in. Doesn't seem too cold though

Anyone know?
 
Ive never ever known any of my parents friedge bulbs to go, and so far mine seems ok too. Changing it should be easy however, mine looks to just unclip, and replacement parts will be available through any kitchen appliance parts centre.
 
How hard is it to replace?

It's a bulb, you unscrew the existing one and screw in a new one :p

It may some kind of plastic housing round it you have to clip off.

As for how long they should last? I have no idea. My current one has been going about 3 years but as they only cost a few pence it's not really an issue is it?

Well no but i'm slightly concerned the fridge might be knackered, as i said some of the stuff in there doesn't seem too cold. And despite the fact i can hear a hum it might not be working and if a standard fridge bulb should last say 5 years and mine lasted 1.5yrs then it might be an easy way of telling if my fridge is knackered.
 
One of our fridges used to go through them quite quickly but the rest seem to go on forever. Nip to a supermarket, get a new bulb and Bob's your uncle.
