How long should my pc take to boot?

Look in your BIOS, is fast boot enabled? Have you got any wait time?
What's the time after POST?

You're sure you're using the M.2 and boot sector isnt on another drive? Do you have a CDROM/DVD/Blu Ray drive?

Thats way too long, mine take a bout 3 seconds after the post beep to be in windows and ready to go, bout 8 seconds without fast boot.

After post it takes around 10-12 seconds, but to load up the mobo logo after pressing the on switch takes around 20 seconds.

mine takes around 5 seconds to go from pressing power to windows login on a normal sata3 ssd. I haven't activated 'quick boot' to remove bios option from start, for the time it gains it's not worth it.

Windows is fully loaded in about 20 seconds and thats with me typing in a password.

I've got a mixture of ssd's and hard drives, one of which is sata 2...

LordPablo, that's likely from using sleep or hibernation.

I think this must be a different problem, because sometimes it freezes on boot up and earlier my pc kept booting into bios till I set the ssd override.

Could my cpu be at fault here? I have been having ram relates problems too. On my previous ram sticks it would detect it as triple channel and not quad channel.

How on earth?

I have a pretty fresh install of Win 10 on SSD and mine takes about 20 seconds tops, maybe 15?

Bear in mind I said after post, with post probably about 3 seconds. Asrock X99 set to ultra fast (Special mode where you cannot enter BIOS at startup), M.2, 32GB RAM.

Yeah a few seconds to boot isn't anything special nowadays, I would be annoyed if it was taking any longer.
