Haha...hey all..Just wondering how long i have too w8t 2 build a new system based round a dx10 card? got about 3k in bank and its gettin harder and harder 2 not click the buy button on some bits from ocuk

I'd give it at least 6 months before buying anything to do with DX10, its far too soon to be thinking of any decent games coming out yet

that's why i'm planning on going down the GX2 route. Can anyone suggest why this isn't a good idea with 6 months to wait for dx10?

first gen dx10 stuff wont be good and wont be many games out.

2nd - 3rd gen stuff will be what you want really

just get a good conroe now, then upgrade the graphics card when you feel the need, you will onluy need to spend a grand

mite do that...build the best rig i can atm...conro ect 2gig ram........and a x1900xt ice or sumfin then upgrade the card in 6/12 month?

I'd bet my left one that Vista doesn't actually appear until mid 2007 and then you'll need to wait for the first service pack till it works right.

IMO if you buy a new DX10 card as soon as they're released you'll be kicking yourself because i'd also be willing to bet that by the time that DX10 games are here the 2nd gen DX10 cards will be out!

my kind of plan

, literally i'd bet on 12 months tho, a 1900xt has a lot of life in it, i'd recomend a 6400 conroe amd a decent heatsink then overclock it
