How long to change ISP?

Im on 8Mb BT Brodband...but they genrally hack me off with their slow speeds and traffic shaping and Im fed up. How long would it take to change to another ISP??

We tried to migrate from BT to an existing Orange account that was setup previously at another address (bad move) and we were without internet for two weeks.

Thats what i'm looking for! I'm looking at changing to 02...and my BT contract should be up at least 1 month ago.
