I moved house last week and NTL did my reconnection. Sadly I seem to be stuck on 2mb when I pay for 4.

I phoned them up, broadband support confirmed I'm on 2 mb and put me through to customer services. They apologised and said they would get me upgraded and could have 3 months for half price to say sorry.

Very nice of them.

Sadly 5 days later and i'm still on 2mb. I've emailed support and still nothing.

Surely it's not complicated, how long should this take?

Yeah I've been tuning my modem off each day then turning it on to check but alas still no upgrade.

Guess I will have to phone them again at the weekend.

All my upgrades have been done within twenty minutes of me putting the phone down and switching of my modem, Ring them and moan & get another 3 months half price :)

Yeah I will do. Trouble is I will be moving again from march to a new house with no NTL cable available so an extra 3 months wont help me :D
Only want it for gaming upload when hosting.

In march sadly I will have to ditch NTL and go with a adsl provider :(

Phoned them up saturday, was 'guarenteed' to have my speed updated by mid day sunday. Well its monday and still no upgrade.

I'm almost to the point of not bothering as i move at the end of march anyway.

Just ask them to do it while you are on the phone with them, it takes a matter of seconds

You would think so.

Another night trying to get what i'm paying for.

Customer service telling me for some reason on my account they couldnt up date me even though I'm paying for 4 meg. They told me Tech services had to do it. Tech services tell me they dont have authority and I have to go back to customer support. Another evening on hold........

Danny: head over to the forum on nthellworld, several people there work for NTL and might be able to help.

Thanks very much for that mate, will give that a try :)

Just got cut off from hold. Was gonna wait til saturday for less phone traffic.

Actually, when it is really busy, the support overflow takes you into Swansea instead of India. And I have found the Welsh call centre to be much more helpful.

By that I meant that on saturdays it normal says the queue is 5 or 10 minutes. Where during the week I get 25-30 as a waiting time.

Sorted. That forum was superb. A guy PM'd me for my details. I sent him the details and today he phoned me up to tell me he had sorted it personally.

Thanks again scope, that saved me a heap of more waiting time.
