Trying to find out the answer online but struggling to get something concrete.

Looking to know if you send a letter by first class no signature, how long would you have to wait to consider the post as lost?

Ive got an issue with crappy worldpay and need to know this so I can go back to them

Post office system is a joke. I was waiting for an ebay parcel before christmas and it was allegedly delivered to my house at about 10.00 AM. Just so happens I live on my own and right at that time I was paying for coffees in a local hotel and have the card receipt to prove it. They say someone must have been there even though the signature they have for it bears no resemblance to mine whatsoever.

Must say that I initially read the title as;

How long until 1st class post(al service) is considered lost?

IE Effectely discontinued because the rise of e-mail/independent couriers has made it uneconomic to provide.

:/

2nd class with a target of 2-3 working days they say 7 days is "delayed" and won't declare anything potentially lost until after day 18 (2 weeks after delivery target). Just had this conversation with RM as a whole bag of post from work has gone missing.

Still better than Hermes though.

exactly. worldpay use royal mail unsigned for to send extremely time sensitive information to their customers. the letters give you 10 days from when it was sent and if after that time it's tough luck, yet the method worldpay use can take 10 days before it's considered lost, so you could be expected to received the letter on the 10th day when it's too late to react to the letter.

The way the post office has gone downhill it’s probably best to assume it’s lost as soon as you put it in a postbox.
