How long until we're looking at: PVA, 24", HDCP, < £200?

Christmas? Longer? Sooner?

Debating whether or not to spend some cash and get a 24" panel, or wait until prices are sensible and double purchase with a blu-ray burner.

Much longer than Christmas, the market is driving LCDs in the direction of cheap TN models because most consumers only look for the screen size, and want it bundled with their £400 PC. If anything this will push the price of the good consumer models up, at least in the short term.

LED backlighting seems to be moving in.... which will push up the prices of decent screens compared to CCFL tech untill it's settled in propperly.

Hopefully though the mix of LED backlights and clever dynamic contrast will allow some kickass contrast ratios! As long as you can live with the lower panel response times the real downer with PVA/IPS is the poor black level, so hopefully LED tech can sort that out.

I really want to pull the trigger on a BenQ 24", but i keep searching for a true sucessor to my NEC 20WGX^2...

^ Seems like a good option, I'm just wondering if there are any advantages to having hardware HDCP support rather than having to rely on software, such as if blu-ray manage to somehow prevent the AnyDVD method working?
