how long will a gtx480 last before it needs upgrading

im running bf3 on ultra with my 480 with AA off low shadows etc.. but tbh i haven't checked the fps of it and it seems very smooth and i game at 1920x1080p at 60hz

To the OP: regarding PSU: stay away from HX1000W if you can. I don't want to explain again that why such dual-500W design without load-balancing have already failed several people (including myself) on stability of GTX580 SLI. I would recommend an AX850 for GTX480 SLI / GTX580 SLI.

You can assume all you like. The test I ran was through the forest where my game was last saved. Then into the Lobinden area and finishing up in Flotsam town square.

And the point is ubersampling doesn't really do much other than slow the game down with very little gain.

Edit: Sorry I didn't see you were running SLI. I thought you were trolling with a single GTX480. If it was GTX480 SLI then 40 fps is quite normal. My apologise.

i was looking at the ocz 1000w gold, they have good reviews and would have room for future upgrades

i will pay upto £150 for s psu no higher, i would prefer buying second hand as its going to save me a lot of money doing so, and im going to have to get a 480 second hand as well as ocuk dont sell them any more

i have 2x gtx 480 and i can still play everything perfectly. Im gonnna keep them for probably another year and then hopefully upgrade to something like dual 680s if there worth the money.
