How long will a new gaming pc be future proof for approx?

I am keen to get a new machine however i wondered if there was any new processors or gpu's etc in the pipeline that are due out soon, im going to be spending around £1300 and i dont want to find out a month down the line that theres something new out which is better than what ive just bought.

Anyone have any idea, in other words should i just get a new pc today or is there something due out soon worth waiting for?
 
what would you get with a max budget of say £1300 just for the tower? i need it building by OCuk as i cant do it myself.
 
it will be for gaming and internet, i play all the latest games usually and also MMOs, there will be no cad or photoshop involved whatsoever, i do need an OS sadly, i have vista 64 bit on a disc with a code but its been used on my current pc and i bought a new monitor last month but its not exactly modern, here is a link to it http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-035-AS&groupid=17&catid=1120&subcat=

my current pc is antec 900 case with a q6600 processor and an asus commando mobo, 8gb ram and a radeon hd5850
 
so what would you guys get for around £1300, im quite keen on the corsair 600 case unless theres any that are similiar size and better?
