Just a quickie, i'll be building a new rig in 2-3 months and wondering if its worth picking up some RAM now while its cheap or if its still likely to be cheap/cheaper by then? 8GB for £50 looks too good to pass up right now.

8gigs for £40 is a loss leader - Personally I can't see it going cheaper

Fill your boots whilst you can, even at £50 - No doubt prices will go up by the end of year or when new platforms arrive.

I bought 8gb of DDR3 when it was on offer at £43 at the weekend.

I'm gonna be upgrading my Q6600 after i see the real world performance figures for Bulldozer, before i decide on SB (SandyBridge) > IB (IvyBridge) or BD (Bulldozer).

What do u use to require oodles of ram?

I can easily use over 8 with Photoshop, 20 browser tabs, MS Visual Studio, Open Office and WoW running all at once. Sure, it's pure laziness that I don't close some windows, but PCs are meant to adapt to me and make my life easier, right? :p

...Tempted to go up to 16GB while it's so cheap, ready for a new Bulldozer build (or SB if BD doesn't beat it :P)

Thing is you dont need these amount but at these prices you may as well do it, who knows whats round the corner and with 8gb frequently available for around 40 quid it is becoming a no brainer.

Buy it now will it's cheap, any cheaper & they will be giving it away free.

As I've said before, any builds I do for friends, I fit 8gb as minimum spec now.

Been buying a few extra 8gb memory, hoping the price will rise & I can make a profit selling it.

Im in a same positiin as u. I just bought 16gb of ddr3 when it was £43 for 8gb. Its now waiting to see how bulldozer performs against sandybridge before I commit to my next upgrade later this year.

I had 8GB of red RipjawsX but £45 was too good to ignore so I bumped up to 16GB. Made no discernible difference at all but I wasn't expecting any really. "I have 16GB of RAM" is pretty much the only benefit". :)

I did the same I got 3x4gb of Corsair Vengeance RAM for 80 quid! I won't say where from as it's a competitor but for 40 quid cheaper than OcUK I had to be a traitor, I'm sorry :O
