How long

I have a 9800GT bought for £222 in July. This plays all games max 1920x1080 but for how long? Should I buy a GTX 295 or wait. One thing that ****** me off is I spend £222 on a GFX card which is more powerful than a 360 but then it gets slower as new games choke it to death so I gotta upgrade. It's like buying another console.

You're probably in the wrong place if you're surprised by the idea of having to upgrade your PC components every so often.

Tip: Don't upgrade until you find there are games you want to play that you can't max.

Sound advice from Aekeron. You can also recoup some of your costs by selling the old gpu in the MM or via auction.

Or buy a smaller screen and then your card will last longer, I have a 19" 1280x1024 and my 3870 still runs all games at med to high settings fine.

The 295 is a waste of money, the 4870x2 is about on par with it, yet its £100+ cheaper, its even cheaper than the much slower 285.

Sorry it was £179.99 to be correct and don't think the 4870 was out then.

The GTX280 came out the morning after I ordered and i remember being so ****** haha but it was way to expensive anyways.

I think I really need a card with 1GB ram because I game at 1920x1080.
Saying that though my friend has a 4870 and games at 1650 and FarCry2 runs 45fps same as me
