Hi all,

Apologies (sort of) for the title. I recently got married and of course now wear a wedding ring. At some points in the day, it feels slightly loose and I'm not sure if I need to either just get used to it (having never really worn one before), or go and get my ring seen to. When it feels loose, it won't come off the finger even when I wave my hand/arm around like a lunatic, but it certainly doesn't take much effort to take it off manually. I'm a bit bothered about getting the adjustment making it too tight at other times so I'm hoping to canvas some opinion on how loose everyone's ring is.

Not a wedding ring, but I use the hand fling and in/out jeans pocket test to confirm if a ring is tight enough without being overtight.

finger fatness varies with body fatness (and fluid retention).
Given that you're recently married and I assume the standard process of your wife fattening you up hasn't fully kicked in yet, I'd say a little loose is not a terrible thing.

When i wash my hands it gets so lose i think i might loose it.

but seriously it does get to the point where it feels like it could slide off, better that then crush my finger though.

If I straighten my finger right out, it comes off quite easily, but otherwise won't come off. I've been wearing it for 8 years now and it hasn't gone anywhere, so if you can't pull it past the knuckle when your finger is relaxed (slightly bent) it'll probably be fine if mine is anything to go by.

Funny this should come up as I've noticed my ring will no longer slide off without me in half-panic I'm going to dislocate my finger.

I put it down to being a little swollen due to just being summer and hot (ish). I asked a colleague who used to work in a jewellery shop and she said that your knuckle can enlarge a bit when wearing a ring.

Also, she recommended not rolling the ring over the knuckle - which is what I've been doing. Rock it back and forth and it won't hurt (as much apparently)

Depends on the heat. I can generally slide it off though, at least with soap on a hot day. I always take it off for the gym, so I need to be able to remove it daily.
