How low can I set CPU PLL voltage on a Intel Core i7 980X for 24/7 usage?

Hi

I have read on hardware forums boards that lowering the CPU PLL voltage from the default 1.8v can greatly help stabilize a overclock without needing as much CPU VCore but I have also
heard that lowering the CPU PLL too much can kill the CPUs life span or damage it etc, so I was wondering how low should I lower this for 24/7 usage that should be completely safe?

I have read about people that have the CPU PLL voltage on this chip down at 1.45v for 24/7 usage but i`m still unsure that would be safe.

Thanks for responding.

Is having the CPU PLL at 1.45v or just above this for 24/7 usage completely fine on this chip or should I leave it at its defaults?

Thanks for responding.

Completely fine. It's similar to how QPI affects stability. You need to find the sweet spot. For me CPU pll 1.6v whereas stock it's set to 1.8v.

Lowering the pll will not damage the chip, the only way this wil happen is if people set it so low they use excessive vcore or QPI to comensate.

Thanks mate for the straight answer.;)
