How low can you hear?

Here's a fun test with earphones/headphones. 2000Hz - 1Hz

I did this with IEMs. I can hear bass till 22Hz, then from 21 to 18Hz I can still hear it but the actual bass resonance effectively seems to disappear for me, and then from 17Hz to 4Hz I hear distant helicopters, and then absolute silence from 3 Hz to 1Hz.

My Fidue A73s went down to about 20Hz clean, from 20Hz to 15Hz getting steadily less clear and from 15Hz down it's lost in the mush.

My MX580s gave up around 30Hz (not really surprising) - with the HD600s can hear "something" down to 4Hz (my amp theoretically has a cut off at 3.39Hz anyway with the RC configuration for the input dc blocking) though below 20Hz have to turn the volume up a bit and then its that "helicoptering" sound - also noticed there is a strange bump at 8Hz not sure if that is an artefact in the sound file or my setup.

EDIT: With the momentums they are producing something (changing inline with the frequency falloff) all the way down to 2Hz :O (might be just with how sensitive they are they are reproducing the smallest artefacts in the file).

EDIT2: Haven't used the momentums in awhile forgot how **** satisfying their trick bass is with music.

Just tried it with my bass port modded AKG K702s and STX sound card:

Clear but getting quieter all the way down to 14Hz at which point the helicopter arrives.

These things have some seriously low growl

can't tell the difference past 15 but noise is still being made

Sounds like you guys are hearing bass down to lower than me, impressive!

I just ran the test using my built in laptop speakers at max volume, can only hear down to 145 Hz.

I listen to it with my vsd3s and I only can hear it clearly to aorund 24-25hz and at 21hz or below no sound at all. I use my onboard audio from z87gd65 mobo

I'm surprised - my high frequency hearing is a bit hit and miss these days but judging by that no problems all the way down to 20Hz and atleast something below that.

at 58 my high frequency hearing is taking a hit, though I can still hear something up to around 15kHz - which isn't too bad for an old fart
