Just wondering but how many are out there ? ive only seen like max of 3 or 4 and the rest are AM2 and AM2+ ? or do AM2's/+ fit the AM3 boards aswell ?

Yes, but it doesn't work if the coolers are not listed as AM3 compatible.
AFAIK the AM2 coolers will all work with AM3 as well.
