how many calories am i burning?

Hi guys just a quick question

height: 5ft8.

weight: 12.3stone.


i'm using my treadmil 7 days a week at speed 5.2kph
for 40 minutes per session.
i have it set to a slight incline.

this with eating less has allowed me to lose 2stone in 6 weeks.

was just wondering how many calories i'm burning each session?
i'm guessing about 300 ?

There is no way of knowing without expensive tests, and it's also completely useless information.

Cardio should not be done to create a specific calorie deficit.

i use the treadmill for mental health reasons as it makes me feel better.
but due to losing 2 stone with a better diet i was curious how many calories
using the treadmill had contributed to the weight loss.
i didnt realise a rough guess would be impossible.
 
Well done on the weight loss. If you're still losing weight, keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about the exact number of calories. Using the calories burned to eat more or treat yourself is a dangerous game! Out of interest have you changed your diet?

If you're desperate to know still there was a website that I found once that did the calculations for you, but I can't remember the name. I'm sure a quick google will see you right.
 
That's walking?

Personally I think you've lost weight through diet alone, as 99.9% of weight loss is.

For comparison I jog at 12km for 50 mins and the machine says 600 calories, I think it lies. It can't possibly know but I'd be happier believing less than half of that.

Thus in your position I'd estimate 100 calories, as you're not getting a sweat up at walking pace.

My advice would be to ignore calories from exercise unless you're looking to bulk up or run a marathon and look to use exercise to improve fitness, that means getting sweaty and out of breath for half an hour a day - not walking!

3 - 3.5 mph - 180-220 cal per 40 min
 
You've lost 28lb in 6 weeks? That's a very rapid pace at which to lose weight, especially for somebody who isn't morbidly obese. Even when I was over 300lb and eating fewer than 1200 calories a day I didn't lose weight that fast. If your calorie intake is that low, the weight loss will be as a result of that more than the gentle exercise that your walking provides.
