How many fps in CS:S?

Finally decided to upgrade my current computer:

Amd Barton 2800+
Gigabyte mobo
1GB
x800GTO
120gb Maxtor

Mainly, play CS:S, and currently getting around average of 30fps... I'm hoping to see major improvement with the new system, atleast 100fps+. Anyone got a similar system, who can tell me how many fps they get?

It doesn't take a lot to run CS:S smoothly but 100+fps is quite hard at high resolutions max details and max aa+af in a big map with 50+ players. That machine will definately run CSS no problem, in fact i'd probably say a bit overkill if all you play is CSS.

That would be more than enough.

Though from what I read, is CSS still not optimised for Dual/Quad Cores yet unlike TF2 and latest HL?

Probably not but it runs so fast on a modern system I don't think it matters.

i dont know about CSS but i play BF2 at 100fps with my system 1680*1050 with everything as high as possible CSS i guess 150-200? only played it on friends pc but doesnt need much
