How many hours a week do you work?

Ouch, why so many hours??

Fairly low wage compared to some as only a van driving job as no real qualifications. Then no guarantee of work as not perm so between saving just incase, debts from old relationship/marriage, supporting kids (with ex) and a gf in full time college who hasn't a job due to travelling and work exp. Lol I end up basically paying for two households and nothing to show for it :(

However occasionally gf gets in a mood if I don't have enough money to buy luxury/non important items ie.tv, extra clothes, nights out etc!!

My life sucks wonder why I bother sometimes but needs must etc

Worst bit is at Xmas/snow was also doing 10-12 hour sat and suns and only had bank hols off since Sept ish

I work what I can get, and its usually still not enough.

Less than 40 would be nice... I've done between 80-90 for many months straight before (= extremely burnt-out), but right about 66 these days.

It helps that I only get/need 1-2 hours of sleep per night, so that allows a lot of free time that otherwise wouldn't be.

That tiny amount of sleep that often will catch up with you some day mate. Really unhealthy :(

I chose to go part time last summer so currently working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6.5hrs a day so 26 hrs a week.

Have flexitime so start and end times are variable at my leisure.

Upwards of 38 hours a week, core work hours are 10am - 4pm can start and finish anytime before / after those times, can work from home if i wish.

When i'm out of the office and out of the country i usually work 10 hour days, offshore more like 12hours, travel time is paid for, which is nice when you're sat in first / business class not only being wined and dined but also being paid for it.

ME too! Who you work for? Im a student but back at my old job working oil and gas industy. Veolia Water Systems Westgarth.

I'm jealous of people who need so little sleep, I start to get under 7 hours and I will feel like ****.

Totally agree, I make sure I get at least 7 hours a night but also try and get up before 8 Tues, Weds and Thurs.

Anything under 5 and I feel rubbish and I'm a healthy person, eat well, exercise regularly, perhaps it's a psychological thing but sleep is key to well-being for me.

Contracted for 37.5 hours PW working a rota system of any 5 from 7 days. Sucks in the sense that occasionally I work Sat 14:00-22:00 then I'm back Sun 06:00-14:00 :(

On the other hand it can work out good in the sense that I had to cancel my holiday last week due to being rota'd in for a training course this now means using up three lieu days gives me over a week off. Been off since 14:00 on Fri and I'm not back until next Tue :p

// Edit - never do overtime as I value my time off too much :)

I'm the same, if I have 5-6 hrs sleep or less I tend to feel it all day. 7-8 hours is about ideal and anything more is a bonus! I find just one hour extra sleep, 7 hrs instead of 6 makes a huge difference. I couldn't get by with 5 hours sleep on a regular basis, don't know how some of you guys manage with less!

37.5 unless i have some scheduled OOH work or on call.
Used to be loads, but the place I'm at now is lacking in OOH work lately :(
