i try to get 7 to 8 hours sleep each night,

last night i slept on the sofa at 9pm, woke up at 10pm and straight to bed. woke up at 6.15am.

i'm at work now and i feel great

I tend to be at my best when I've had no more than 6-7 hours.

I had none last night though. I'm not really sure why I didn't go to bed, just didn't happen :\

I'm up before 5am every day. I tend to go to bed at about 2230-2300. don't feel too tired and generally just get on with it. I work a 10-12hr day and still go to the gym in the evening, cook dinner, prepare lunch for the next day, watch a bit of tv, browse the forums etc.

Weekends I get about 7-8hrs sleep which is a nice lie in :) I hate wasting time in bed - life's too short.

I generally don't feel tired really and in general I feel great (but I'm a healthy person so it probably helps) - I quite enjoy early mornings. Even though I only sleep 5-6hrs I sleep well and it's good deep sleep. :)

IIRC 7 hours is optimum - less than 6 or more than 8 is not good for you

There's no such thing really, it's what your body needs, my body naturally wakes up after 5-6hrs if I sleep well which I tend to do. If I'm physically/mentally tired my body will sleep longer. Then again I'm quite in touch with my body's requirements and my sleep reflects that.

Tends to be about 5-6 when I'm on the rig and 6-7 when I'm home. If I'm on days off and I sleep past 8 o'clock, I feel as if I've wasted precious leisure time. I don't do a hell of a lot the month I'm home but I still think sleeping for more than 7 hours is a waste of time.

I can manage for a few days on less than 4 hours a night if required but not as well as I used to.

About 6.5hrs for me, normally ~23:30 until 06:00 ... if I go to bed earlier then I tend to wake up earlier.

Thats during the week, at weekends I can not wake up until 07:00-07:30. How tired I feel once I'm awake depends on whether I have woken from deep sleep or from light sleep.

I usually hit the hay at 12am, so that'd make it 7 hours, 29 minutes..

I always seem to wake up right before the alarm

I work nightshift (10 pm till 8am) most of the week, get about 7hours or 8hours sleep. Seems to be fine for me, but on my days off I do enjoy a nice lie in.
I better get to sleep now and stop surfing!

Usually go to bed at 22:30-23:00 and get up at 06:30-07:00 but having to young babies that can be blown straight out of the water and I could be up for 10 mins or so every other hour tending to them :)

Me and the missus take turns.....

The older I get (32 now) the less sleep I feel I need, can't beat getting up early (7am) on a Sunday morning and strolling to the paper shop!!.... Best time of the day I think..

Well i've just done 1.30am to 9.30am which is a start & miles better than the hours i've been sleeping recently.

Lets hope it continues.

Last week I've had much less sleep than normal - going to sleep about 2-3am and getting up at 6:30am, 3-4 hours is just not enough!

Normally I sleep from ~11:30pm-6:30am, so that's about 7ish hours.

Must go back to my regular sleep pattern...!

Generally go to be 11pm-12, asleep about 30-60 mins after I go to bed and the alarm is set for 7.25am.

Have the same pattern for getting to sleep at weekends but lie-in until about 9am.
