Even though I've had adsl since well when it was first available the whole filter thing confuses me.
I am running a master extension upstairs with a built in spliiter/filter like this
adsl_faceplate.jpg
right so that is all wired up and the lead plugs straight in to the master phone socket downstairs it only has the one phone socket entry on the faceplate.
Am I supposed to put a filter direct from the master socket in between this one ? or one on the telephone which at the moment is plugged in to the phone socket you get on the adapter plugged in to the master socket.

It's not rocket science - every phone has to be filtered.

So you have a master socket with an extension which has a filtered faceplate on it, a modem connected to the ADSL side of the extension box and a phone attached to the voice side of the filter?

It's okay I understand now you just need a micro filter for the phone downstairs.cheers anyway.
