How Many More PC Sequels Can They Ruin!!

what are you even talking about?! all the features from the first game where intact with massive improvements in other areas, the pallete was much richer in colour, the new weapons fit perfectly into the game and the whole scale was made much bigger, the new enemies where varied and fun to play againt and the new horde mode was a blast.

you sir, dont have a clue

thats exactly what i was thinking! just without the part at the end ;) but really Gears 2 is an immense sequel compared to most, look at fallout 3, so many people i know love it but i think its really bland myself and i dunno why?!

Plus its not even a PC game.

am i the only one to like to like undercover, i agree that most wanted is better but after buying both Carbon and Pro Street which were both pants, i thinks its a step back in the right direction :)

NFS Undercover- Yet to try. Each time a new one is released they miss out everything fun from the previous one and fubar it just a bit more! Anything since underground2 has been poo.
EDIT: tried it now, runs badly and waaaaaaaaaaaay to easy.

Tomb Raider Underworld- Shallow and why are there a million eaaaaaaaaaaaasy secrets per level?! All in all I liked the game but the classic tomb raider we all loved is long gone. Anniversary was fun though.

Far Cry2- Has major flaws but still a good game.

Silent Hill5- I was looking forward to this but reviews say it really is crappy.

Red Alert3- Need to try

Rainbow Six Vegas2- I found this game immense fun! (I never played the first one though, so the style of this game was new to me).

Final Fantasy 10-2 and 12- The old FFs that I played (7-10) where awesome, argueablely up there in the best games of all time along with goldeneye, ocarina of time etc. FF12 felt like FF11 but offline and FF10-2 was just terrible. In itself 10-2 is not a dire game, but it really is shoddy compared to how good FF10 is/was.

Any crash bandicoots after the third one on psx- Stop releasing these games!!! Since naughty dog stopped making them they are just not the same and ruin the series. I think silent hill 5 will be just like this.

Aside from Tomb Raider, not played that yet and Silent Hill 5, not played that either.

EA and Ubisoft were the publishers.

Need I say more?

EA seems to be intent of ruining games.

Spore, The Sims, Need for Speed, to name a few.

Red Alert3- Poor cartoon gfx art direction. Dated gameplay & poor level design. Even the cheesy eye candy babes FMVs are not worth looking at for long & feel very tired in places.
I have to disagree, I think the creativity in red alert 3 is great.

Spore surely has to be the biggest let down EVER

Yeah. I remember reading an article somewhere about one of the developers complaining about the changes they had to make due to EA.

Also, they're doing what they did with The Sims, and releasing 'Stuff packs' which add about 30 new items, 30 new textures for the reasonable price of £10-£20.

i think the problem is that most of them games just are not built for the pc anymore.

rainbow six has not been a pc game series in a long time
c&c series has been trying to get a foothold in the console space since c&c3 (and largely failed)
nfs - bleh please just kill it now

im just glad blizzard and valve are still puting pc gamers first but we will see how long that will last with blizzard being part of activision (the biggest milkers of games) and valve seeing as they are geting even closer to ea

bring on starcraft 2, diablo 3, dawn of war 2 and empire total war :)

Are the graphics really that bad? I've played both and the graphics aren't really much of an issue for me.
Agreed, the 'glowy' look added nicely to the atmosphere I thought.

Course when a game doesn't do AA it's the work of Satan for some people :p

(Also, the online co-op mode is great!)

On the whole far cry 2 note, surely we'll then have lots of complaints when Codemasters get round to releasing Operation Flashpoint 2, cause many people are just gonna go 'look, they've made a sequel' only to discover its not :p

Vegas 2 aint too bad, but looking at my amount of xbox and pc games, there does seem to be a lot of numbers on the end of them!!

Vegas 2 was not too bad for gameplay, but the graphics weren't good enough to warrant the specs required to run the game. My P4 3.4Ghz PC struggled, but ran hl2 with no problems whatsover on highest settings and HL2 looks better imo, surely this is down to bad, unoptimized coding? Red Alert 3 looked promising until they went for the cartoonish graphics and decided to add DRM to it. COD4 on the other hand is a great game, though COD5 falls short of its predecessors (though an improvement over COD2) by quite a way.

^^ I also thought cod2 was not very good. Actually I thought it was poor. One of the very few PC games I've ever regretted buying.

Graphically yes it's great. But the rest? Just a gloryfied graphics overhaul. The story was still as skippy as ever, the whole 'lots of co-op' stuff that was promised wasn't there, stupid stupid bosses, Vehicle level with the worst controls ever (Even fanboys can't deny the controls for that tank thing were dreadful). The multiplayer is often regarded as a step back, and certainly still suffers from generally losing to whoever hosts.

I'm not saying it's a bad game as a standalone and if it had nothing to live up to, i'd rate it more favourably, but as it stands I think it's a joke. All that hype over 100s of enemies on screen at once and you never get to fight in a situation like that.
