How many of you have skipped work for a delivery?

Its been a lot of years, back when i was at school i used to play sick when i either got a new computer game, or had something nice getting delivered. (i would actually start acting ill a couple of days before lol)

My current job doesnt allow for this..

But i bet some of you have done it!.

Ever skived work, or used holidays? just in order to be home to upgrade, overclock, or play with some new PC hardware.
 
Get it delivered to work, then you can show it off to your workmates ;)

Saying that, I think I had to use the whiteboard to explain what the Tuniq Tower did... :D

You've got a point, it is impossible for me to leave a box on my desk next to me without opening things up and having a look.

I just get stuff delivered to work and hope it turns up in the morning before the over enthusiastic afternoon receptionist can get her hands on it and cause all kinds of fuss...

one of the great pleasures of life. More extreme for me was my addiction to champ manager 97/98 which involved several sick days!
 
Havent taken a day off work but have had it delivered there. My Antec PSu was delivered to my work so wasnt a problem getting it home, my 7.1 Creative Inspire speakers on the other hand was a different story, worked in halifax and had to commute on the train to Bradford.

Well you can't install it granted, but you can deifnately look at it and have a fiddle. Personally I like that... heightens my excitement for when I get home. The office relies on me very heavily though as their sole IT bod so I don't think I could pull a sickie simply for a piece of hardware in good conscience. :(

I seriously thought I was the only one to do this.

I took 2 days off school to overclock my athlon x2 and play counterstrike source ~ a year ago :o :D
 
i collect it from the curriers (they ring me now when i have a parcel as its so often)
when its quiet i can be home installing at 10:30 so no need to miss work
