How many people leave their console turned on when not in use?

Personally due to the time it takes to turn on, I dont see the point in leaving it on. With the added fear of YLOD or RROD. I never leave my console turned on. It gets turned on for gaming, or movies.

Outside of that, its off.

A thread in PCs has a member here claiming its a popularly done thing. I figured best way to find out is ask in consoles section :D

I honestly don't think anyone leaves it on

I always leave my PS3 in stand by mode as its set up to automatically turn on if there are updates, then it turns itself off once the updates are complete.

My 360, I NEVER leave on.

Don't see any good reason to leave a console on. I only have a WII, and it rarely gets played these days (I prefer the games on the PC :)), but when I do use it, it's switched off immediately I've finished with it.

Off. I even turn off my PC if I think I'm not going to be using it for over an hour. My PC actually boots up quicker than my 360 though :p

Like any normal person, both of mine are off when not in use. My PS3 is my main console for media use though so it's on a lot of the time.

I imagine the trend in future gaming consoles will end up being as always on devices, as media services & social hubs combined with gaming. My Vita is on more than I play it due to features like Near (which periodically searches for game content) and the fact I'm playing a game of chess by mail in Pure Chess.

My ps3 is on a lot more than I play it at the moment - one reason is it is connected to my pc which I stream a lot of my tv programmes from as well as podcasts that periodically download from iTunes (or possibly via Banshee / Rhythmbox if I'm using Linux). Another reason is sometimes if I see a real-life friend playing a multi-player game and I fancy joining them for a quick game without being tied to playing the whole evening (although this happens less often as I tend to prefer single player games).

I don't tend to switch my ps3 on for the sake of it, but sometimes I'm not really in the mood to play a particular game until I see someone else playing it.

Someone at my work leaves his PS3 on when playing GT5. He talks about winning races easy in manager mode or something. I can't believe what I hear, so you don't even have to play the games these days to get achievements.
